Data Engineer
NN is on a journey to become a data-driven organization. As a Data Engineer, you leverage your knowledge and experience with the latest data technologies to turn data into valuable information. Together with your fellow engineers, you will build new functionalities every day to provide our customers with the best possible service.
Wat ga je doen?
Together with your colleagues, you build data pipelines, retrieve data and take care of cataloguing and historicizing it. Azure is your primary ally in this process and your DataOps engineers colleagues will support you, to ensure the efficiency of your work. Additionally, users such as data modelers and data scientists frequently present interesting challenges. You also explore ways to simplify data extraction from the platform for users, making everyone's work easier.
The Life & Pensions Data Platform (LPDAP) requires continuous improvement and expansion. For this, we utilize the latest Microsoft technologies such as Azure Data Factory and Azure Databricks. You'll also extensively use Azure DevOps and Git. Programming tasks will predominantly involve Python, SQL, and PySpark.

You're not afraid to ask questions to gain insight into the situation and critically examine the platform. Meanwhile, you stay updated on infrastructure developments and other aspects of your field. You also possess:
- Substantial knowledge of Azure; Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Azure certifications such as DP203 and AZ104 are a significant advantage
- Experience in programming with Python, PySpark, and SQL
- Experience or knowledge of data engineering tools and best practices
- Experience with Azure DevOps, CI/CD, and software engineering is a plus
- At least B1 level English; fluent Dutch is an advantage
- Passion for IT and Data and experience with Agile working

You'll be part of a team of four engineers, each with their own expertise. Additionally, you'll collaborate closely with the Product Owner and data architect. We are committed to continuous improvement and strive to bring out the best in each other. Open communication is key, and we have regular scrum activities, including daily stand-ups, bi-weekly reviews, and retrospectives. Our collaboration extends beyond these formal activities as we actively share knowledge and help each other out.
